Good news for the RobinPolley Foundation. The foundation has received €7,500 from the VriendenLoterij FanFonds for the new sports programme Decide Your Future. The programme in Rotterdam-West uses football to support young people in their physical, mental and social development through training sessions, mentoring and workshops.
“Many young people in Rotterdam-West grow up in an environment where opportunities are unequally distributed. Young people regularly face limited guidance, social pressure and less access to positive role models. Sport, and football in particular, is a powerful way to reach young people and provide structure. With Decide Your Future, we want to use football to support young people in their personal development, strengthen their mental and physical health, and connect them with their community. It is fantastic that the VriendenLoterij FanFonds is supporting us in this,” said Tobi Fasanya on behalf of the RobinPolley Foundation.
About the VriendenLoterij FanFonds
The VriendenLoterij FanFonds is a new funding programme through which football organisations, both amateur and professional, in the Netherlands can apply for financial support for social projects. The fund provides funding for initiatives that use football as a means of bringing people together and improving the physical, mental and social well-being of football fans.
Organisations can identify the social issue they want to address and determine how they will use football as a connecting and inclusive tool. The National Sports Fund (Nationaal Fonds voor de Sport) is responsible for organising the fund.
